Diagnostic and Prior-to-Purchase Evaluations
|
| An increasingly popular service is the diagnostic evaluation, whereby a geologist or engineer walks through a site that is suspected of having experienced geologic instability or geotechnical distress. This service is typically requested by potential buyers of properties where such a risk has been suspected. Whether a geologist or engineer performs this service depends on the site location, project type and other factors. The site walk is usually followed by a professional opinion report, and in many cases, a more comprehensive investigation involving sampling and testing soil/rock strata. |
